Are you looking for an unusual, exciting, interesting holiday destination? Ethiopia will surprise you and delight you, with her many different peoples, varied landscapes and vibrant cities.

My name is Yigermal Getu. I'm a freelance tour guide in Ethiopia, based in Addis Ababa, travelling to different parts of the country with clients. In Ethiopia, names often have a literal meaning. My name, Yigermal, means 'surprising' - and I'm sure you will find many surprises in Ethiopia!

The services I provide are customised to your needs. If you simply want a day with someone who knows Addis Ababa, to get your bearings and see the main sites, that's fine. Or if you want a suggested itinerary for visiting different parts of Ethiopia, I have some suggestions on this site and I can also give you a tailor-made itinerary based on your particular interests.

Services I can provide include:

• taking you on a guided tour of Addis Ababa, walking and/or using taxis; this can also be done with a car rented on a daily basis
• day-trips out of Addis Ababa, to locations such as Wonchi Crater and Debre Zeit
• organizing your trips around Ethiopia, including reservations, car-hire, booking of local activities (such as trekking in the Simiens)
• assistance for documentary-film making, including help with finding suitable locations, interpreting during interviews and translating transcripts
